While browsing ebay, I stumbled upon !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! It's called a Daihatsu Rocky. I did some google research but there's really not that much info. Did they ever sell these mass market in the US? If so, how many were sold? Because I really want one now.

1987 thru 1992, if I recall properly.
They only sold two models, the Rocky and the Charade.
They were found to be quite durable, but still sold poorly.

If I remember correctly it was because the suzuki samurai ate up all of the rocky's business

They sold it here along with the Charade (small econobox). I'm not sure how great they were. My first wife had a Charade, but we unloaded once we had a child on the way.

Thank you. How was the Charade by the way?

Very tinny. It felt very flimsy. I didn't feel like it was all that safe to be honest. I didn't hate it completely though. My other car at the time was a brand new 1991 Ford Escort GT, which was a fun car to own and drive.

They were fairly common here in Colorado, and a few are still around. It's nice to live in a place where rust is not common. I see the Rocky more often than the Charade, though. Daihatsu stopped selling cars here in '91 or '92.

I remember watching the daytime game show 'Classic Concentration' when I was growing up, and they always had a Daihatsu as one of the prizes.
